Mr. Gable is of counsel to the firm of Arter & Hadden in its Washington, D.C. office. He holds a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and a B.E.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Gable has authored numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer on the topic of intellectual property protection for computer related inventions. Of note, his paper, "The Strength of Patent Protection for Computer Products: The Federal Circuit and the Patent Office Refine the Test for Determining Which Computer-Related Inventions Constitute Patentable Subject Matter," Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal, Vol. 17, No. 1. was cited in the Federal Circuit decision, Arrhythmia v. Corazonix decided March 12, 1992, No. 91-1091, note 4. Mr. Gable is a member of the AIPLA, the ABA, the Computer Law Association and the D.C. Computer Law Forum. Of note, he was the Chair of the Electronic and Computer Law Committee of the AIPLA (1988, 1989).
